Hailing from Eureka, California comes 8-Ball Stout with a crisp, but generally rich-flavored stout. Most stouts are a certain ’style’ that focuses on a certain roasted malt from which to extract flavor. Here’s what interesting right off the bat with this one- it’s a general blend of sorts, containing both oatmeal and chocolate malts with a nice combination of spicy hops. This adds a few features to the stout that this sergeant DIGS! HOOAH!
First, it’s got a spicy aroma with not a lot of head, and a sweet punch to the tongue. It has a little less carbonation than this sergeant likes, and it’s got to be served damn cold to hit the flavor just right, but nevertheless it packs a good meaty flavor. Served in a BIG-ASS 22-oz bottle, this stout is worthy of serving as a rifleman in my beloved battalion.
