Chocolate Stouts are a weird breed - too much malt, it’s like candy. Too many hops, it tastes like an herb garden. Those roasted oats and malts enchance every flavor that comes into play. Rogue Brewing Company brings us a nice variety of ales, lagers and stouts- and this is no different. The beer tastes just fine- nice and thick-tasting and ends with a good chocolate flavor- that makes Sgt. Stout’s heart leap with joy, and they more or less GIVE AWAY THE RECIPE on the side of the bottle. Sgt Stout digs. Now let’s talk about the bottle.
Seriously - who would not only choose an expression that stupid as one that necessitates immortalization onto a bottle, but also decides, “Hey, let’s ETCH this into the glass!” This girl looks like they were about to take a picture, and at the last second, someone screamed, “By the way, how does that glass of raw pig’s bile taste?” She just looks confused at best, maybe as if someone grabbed her off a street corner and shouted, “No time to explain, ma’am, just hold this…now, look over there!”. During the consumption of the stout, this Sergeant pondered what this woman was thinking at this moment, kinda like the Mona Lisa.
Oh screw it, just have a stout and shut up.

I tried this- I really like how the choclate tast gently comes in at the end- It did not taste like someone put Hershey’s in the beer and then stirred it up real fast.
